Object: Checkmate the opponent's King. Knights cannot jump, only 'limp': they need a free adjacent square to move one step orthogonally and then one step diagonally. Apart from this, standard chess rules apply. Variant 2: the Knights can jump over friendly pieces, but not over enemy pieces.
