This chess variant was invented by Johannes Tranelis in 1982. It was mentioned in a German book Spiele fur Zwei (Games for Two), and later in Pritchard's Encyclopedia of Chess Variants.
Be the first player to get a piece in the opposite endzone. You may only move a piece into the endzone, however, if it starts its move on the opponent's back row. The Queen, Rook, Bishop, and King move as in chess. The Minister (upside-down Bishop) moves one step diagonally. The Dignitary (updisde-down Rook) moves one step orthogonally. |
