Version 1.2 is in testing. The number of games and users on the ICC has increased tremendously since the Games and Players lists were implemented, so they don't work too well any more. There is just too much information to be transmitted! So the main change is the replacement of these lists with a Sought list, since now "seeks" are the most popular way to find games.

Requires a Macintosh running System 7 or later and a dial-in
TCP/IP (PPP or SLIP) connection to the internet. Important
note: Internet Chess for the Macintosh version 1.1
now uses threads; if you are running an older version of OS
than System 7.5, you will need to download and install the
Thread
Manager extension (click here to download it). Once you have
downloaded and unbinhexed it, drag it into the System Folder.
You will also need to restart your Mac for it to take effect.
System 6 is unsupported. If you are using OpenTransport, please
use the most current version, because incompatibilities have been
reported with earlier OpenTransport releases. You can't use a
Black&White only Mac (SE, Classic..). Black&White monitors
are okay, but not recommended. Non-TCP connections or access through
firewalls are not currently supported.
Although Internet Chess for the Macintosh is sold with three nice full-color piece sets, its plug-in architecture allows any number of sets to be used. Here are some extra freeware sets you might find interesting:
To use one of these sets simply throw it in the Chess Set folder. It will then be available in the Board Options window. Please contact us if you want to contribute a set yourself! You'll find instructions for creating a new set in the Chess Set folder that comes with Internet Chess.
If you run into any bugs, please report them to us! We need
to know what happened, with a description of the circumstances
(what you were doing, what the state of the program was at the
time, etc.), what the effects of the bug were (such as "hung
my machine", "messed up the board display", etc.),
and some information about your machine (Model, OS version, how

Channel 14 on the ICC has been designated by Darooha for our client discussions. The client will automatically add channel 14 to your list of active talk channels. When you come into ICC, tell 14 Hi! Type in 14 to see who else is around. Many of the others in channel 14 will be fellow users, although some may be admins or lurkers.
